Fun activities to do with little boys (girls)!!

It's summer, which means that we have even more time with our kiddos!! The boys favorite activity is definitely playing with their toys, and we spend so much time creating amazing adventures for them. But I also try to have at least one structured activity each day as well as go 1-2 places to keep life interesting. Here's some from the last few months. Hope some of the ideas you can use!!

Soak string in glue and cover a balloon, let dry, and pop balloon!!

Hide stuffed animals in your yard or house and let the kids rescue them!!

Drip pots. Let kids squeeze paint on upside down pot. Beautiful!!

Go on a hike!! Look for bugs and animals and bring snacks and water. Take your time and go before it gets hot if you can for a more enjoyable experience. ;-)

Go to a park!!! There are so many! A new park is a new adventure for a child!

My boys loooove to climb so I seek out parks with structures where they can climb!!

Playdough!! Combine with some of their toys and you are good to go. ;-)

Shoot ping pong balls off a wall with squirt guns!

Glue cups to a board and toss ping pong balls inside!!

Give your kids a can of spray paint from the dollar store outside in a little pool. Supervise them and expect lots of giggles!! Helpful if you have a hose nearby!

Give them glue and then some confetti or glitter to sprinkle on top!!

Go to Barnes N Noble and read!!! My boys will sit for hours. It helps to have them pick out the books. Tell them to get one and come back. Then they get up every book and don't get antsy.

Get them a bug catcher and go to a park or nature center. Help them find critters!!

Sprinklers + umbrella= awesome!

Watercolor Colored pencils. Color picture and then paint with a brush. ;-) They also love the foam stickers!! Make a card for someone they love!

Get some crepe paper at the dollar store and decorate the park!!

Paint flags from a country or state. We did it for Cinco de Mayo.

Paint old vases to give as a gift!! Sponge painting is great for kids!

Cut out sponges in cool shapes and let kids do it. Also if you use glass you can bake it for a more permanent gift!

Make a bug home or just build a lego city!! This was for stinky our stinkbug.

Build a fort! Eat, read books, and play inside!!

Paint!

Bake with your kids! Mine love the big blender.

Collect snails and have a snail race!

Go to a school after hours and teach them playground games. Four square, tether ball, etc.

Shaving cream in a bucket with paint!!

Paint with fizzy paint (baking soda + liquid watercolor)! After painting, squirt with vinegar for a surprise!

Go to a huge field with some balls and play. We played aliens. Two people were the aliens and would hit the other two with the ball. The way to recover them is give them the water bottle to take a drink!

Shaving cream with stuffed animals. Cover them completely and then use the hose to find them!!

Water balloons and frozen water balloons!

These awesome building tools!!

Magnets on a baking pan!

Coloring!

Science! I just gave the boys a bunch of stuff and they went to town. Ice, baking soda, flour, coffee grounds, vinegar, water, etc.

These awesome sticks!

My boys love to stamp!

Our favorite way to walk lately is give Eli a scooter and I run with Max in the jogger. We like hikes that lead to a playground ;-)

Rolly polly search. We found a better cage, don't worry. Look under the wood chips or plants. ;-)

Go camping in your backyard. S'mores over candlelight encouraged.

Draw scary monsters. ;-)

Playdough + pipe cleaners ;-)
